Overview

AccessPrivacy.ca is an electronic guide to Ontario's and the Federal government's access to information legislation M/FIPPA and the ATIA/PA. The AccessPrivacy.ca electronic guide is fully searchable and incorporates recent amendments as well as case law; in printed form, the AccessPrivacy.ca guide is over 800 pages in length. The service is updated regularly to provide you with the most significant information about M/FIPPA and the ATIA/PA.

Usage Notes:
AccessPrivacy.ca is a user-friendly, comprehensive, and convenient resource for access and privacy professionals.

Some links within the accessprivacy.ca website are programmed to open content in a new window. This display of this new window in some cases may be blocked by 'pop-up' blocking software installed on your computer. To view the content, you may need to either temporarily disable the pop-up blocking software, or instruct your software to allow pop-ups for the domain www.accessprivacy.ca.

How to Search:

Access Privacy.ca provides three ways to access all of the information in our extensive database:

1) Direct Access through the Table of Contents
To access the table of contents, simply select the Chapter heading and click. A new window or tab, (depending on your browser settings) will open with the relevant content. The site allows for as many open documents as your browser will allow.

2) Keyword Searching –
For keyword searching, simply use the Search field to enter any search term or phrase and click the Submit button. The results will be displayed in a new window or tab. Multiple results are ranked for relevance. If your search returns too many or too few results, we encourage you to revise your search term and try again. Searching is powered by Google technology and should be very fast.

Managing your profile.

When you subscribe to AccessPrivacy.ca, you will receive an email containing your User ID and a password. We encourage you to select “EDIT PROFILE” from the navigation bar you’ll see after you log in. This will allow you enter a new password. Please keep your password private and do not share it with other users.

If there is more than one user of your subscription (see below), one person should be assigned as the administrator. The administrator has access to the profile of each user and can assign or change individual passwords as required.
 

Subscriptions

Annual subscriptions are available on a per user basis. 

One individual in one office location may obtain a one year subscription for $495 plus applicable taxes. 

Groups larger than 1 or bulk users are invited to contact us at info@accessprivacy.ca for information about discounted group rates.
